On a recent trip to my local Total Wine and More store, looking for beers to review, I came across a beer I had never heard of before in the "Americas" section. Kalik is a lager brewed in the Bahamas. Interestingly, I had never tried a beer from the Caribbean and so I figured I would give it a shot.
I was walking through my local Total Wine and More collecting beer to drink and review and the cartoony dog on a blue can caught my eye. I was intrigued and had to pick it up. Immediately, the image of the can blew up on my Instagram account. Seemingly this can was stealing everyone's attention (kudos to whoever designed this) and so I had to see if the brew could live up to the hype.
Shiner's Family Reunion is a combination six-pack including a variety of beers brewed by the Spoetzl Brewery. Having now tried all six beers from this six-pack, it's time to break down each brew in a worst to first.
If you care enough about beer to read a beer blog, you have almost certainly tried this at least once. And if you've tried it, you have almost certainly developed a deep-seated opinion of where this beer sits in the grand scheme of things.
